In the mud room, built- in closet with a sitting bench provides plenty of storage area and use of the barn door for the bathroom saves precious space. The decision to use an open dividing wall is the consequence of the unique design which is applied throughout the rest of the existing house. It also results in the visual opening otherwise relatively small space.

Oryginal bedroom was connected to the main house through a vestibule. Renovation project included changing it into independent unit by adding kitchenette, bathroom and separate entry via mud room. Old metal windows were replaced with dbl pane picture windows and problematic sliding doors with french doors.

As a separate, independent unit - the suite has to provide all necessery amenities : sleeping/living area as well as kitchenette and bathroom ( shown above).

Passive solar principle directed design of this single family house built in mid 70' in central Arkansas. Over time, an oryginal building was expanded with an addition to the side. The office space was located on the lower level and separate apartament on the upper level . Overall state and appearence of the building became outdated, inconsistent and required some repairs.
Passive solar principle directed design of this single family house built in mid 70' in central Arkansas. Over time, an oryginal building was expanded with an addition to the side. The office space was located on the lower level and separate apartament on the upper level . Overall state and appearence of the building became outdated, inconsistent and required some repairs.
Owners, being environmantally consious, decided to upgrade the roof to metal one, with color white being selected as having biggest solar reflectancy factor.

Renovation included : repairing deteriorated cedar siding, sealing and painting, installing new, energy efficient white metal roof , re-designing and redoing woodwork on shading trellis and changing outdated sliding doors to new french doors. Outdoor entry deck area was rebuild, expanded and upgraded with railing and small ramp and pool area was re-design to provide more visual interest year round by installing evergreen screen planter along whole lenght of the pool.
